Community School Appeal
 |
Imagine trying to study in a makeshift classroom of sticks and plastic sheets. That’s exactly what it’s like for over 80 children in grades 4-7 at Bunga community school in Zambia.
Build IT International wants to change this unacceptable situation by building a new 2 block classroom and a teacher’s houses in 2008.
Miss Zulu, a teacher at the school told us
This is a good school with a lot of hard working children but we need more classrooms and teachers please!
Through this project we will train a local builder and community members in tile and brick making skills. These new skills should create new opportunities to earn a living in this poor corner of Zambia.
The work will cost:

| Teachers house | £3,500 (two needed). | |
| Project management and training costs | £5,000 | |
| 8 latrines at £250 each | £2,000 |
This work is part of our expanding community school upgrade programme budgeted at £90,500 for 2008. So far we have secured around £63,000.
