A new report published by Build It reviews our approach to sustainable building and provides recommendations on the way forwards.
12 trainees have been selected at our building project at Donata School for the Disabled in Mkushi, Zambia. After completing an initial assessment over the last few weeks, they are now working with trainer Evans towards their TEVETA trades tests, which they will sit next year.
The assessment period is very hands on and trainees have already produced over 4,500 soil blocks and 78 Column blocks to be used in the two classroom block.
The new trainees have been joined by former Build IT trainees Juliet, Emeldah and Simon. As part of our Training into Work programme, we ensure that trainees who have already passed the training programme can develop their skills even further and get paid in the process!
