As 2011 draws to a close we are looking forward to our new programme of work in 2012.

The New Year is set to be a busy time here at Build IT, with opening ceremonies for our 2011 projects and starting work on our 2012 programme.

Our 2012 programme is our most ambitious yet, with 5 projects being undertaken.

• Kaoma Orphanage – Replacement of an unstable orphanage especially for very young children (most of which are orphaned).
• Kaoma Training Centre – a training centre in Kaoma for use by community groups.
• Twapia Secondary School Phase 2 – With the first phase completed by January 2011, more work will expand capacity towards the 1,000 target.
• Kawama Secondary School – This new secondary school in an area where there is currently no secondary education.
• Kapiri Community School – New primary community school in the Kapiri area (children from the area pictured)

The work now begins to develop these projects and we will be working with communities every step of the way. We’ll be recruiting 60 new trainees as well as developing how we help our former trainees find work. We'll also be undertaking a technologies review, which will evaluate how we can make even better use of sustainable materials!
