We always stay in touch with the communities at our projects to ensure there is good progress and it is always nice to catch up! Andrew Jowett, Build IT Director, visited Mikumbila School in February and met with headmistress Melody Chimese.

Melody is really happy with the developments at the school following the new school building, which opened in June 2010.

The Ministry of Education has supported the school with more new desks and two trained teachers. The Ministry had initially sent a teacher who Melody did not feel was up to scratch, so she was swiftly sent back! Now two new members of staff, Karen and Constance, are settled in and Melody is enjoying working together saying;

‘I am so proud of our school; we have a good team now!’.
