A new report published by Build It reviews our approach to sustainable building and provides recommendations on the way forwards.
Build IT trainees gathered at Makangwe and Chainda Community Schools on 17th June to receive their tool kits. The trainees, who passed their TEVETA trades tests last November and completed training in January, all took home a selection of tools to get them started.
The kits help the trainees to continue to develop their skills, but now they have even more opportunity to put their training into practice. Our new Training into Work Programme is launched this year, which will provide our trainees with further support, whether developing their skills on new Build IT projects or setting up their own enterprise.
Thank you to charity Tools for Self Reliance who generously donated the tool kits!
Former trainee Sabron from Makangwe is already working on Build IT’s Nchute Health Clinic, where the production of bricks is underway and we are currently selecting trainees from Mikumbila and St. Agness to work alongside new trainees at Donata School.
