Joel Muleya has been given a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and learn new building skills through the Build IT International Project at Butempa, Zambia.

Although he has worked for builders, Joel recently completed his basic building skills training and was looking for his first job when he came for an interview.

Charity Lubingo, our Zambia Programme Representative, was so impressed with his interest and enthusiasm that he was offered a trainee post, working alongside experienced builder Mr Zulu. Joel Jumped at the chance.

'I want to run my own construction company' he told us, 'and now I am acquiring knowledge on soil blocks and concrete tiles which could be a possible business venture in future'.

If all goes well, we expect to award Joel a contract later this year as our School Upgrade Programme grows.
