Training at Nchute

Work is well and truly underway at Nchute Health Clinic. Thirteen trainees have been selected from the local community, after undertaking health and safety training and block making.  They have now all received their overalls and have been busy on site.

The trainees have produced over 3000 blocks, alongside carrying out preparation work such as sifting sand – which can be very dusty work! Very soon they will also start producing tiles for the roof of the clinic.

The local community have been working hard to ensure that the new clinic is a success. They have had played an important role working with architects to design the layout of the building and have worked hard collecting and delivering sand, gravel and crushed stones to the site.

The community have also assisted with the excavation of the curing tank, which will be used to store the tiles for the building, to ensure that they don’t dry out.
