Our latest project has started – building a new community school in Shipungu, Central Zambia.
To deliver a successful project we work in partnership with a range of other organisations including community groups, NGOs and statutory bodies. Our current partners include:
Alan Kerins Projects (AKP) have been supporting Kaoma Community School since 2006. Build IT is helping to expand the facilities at the school.
Parry Associates The UK based building company have developed many of the sustainable materials and techniques used at our projects, such as the process we use to make roof tiles and waffles. These are made on site using local materials and require significantly less cement than standard tiles and flooring.
Promoting Equality in African Schools (PEAS) We are working in partnership with PEAS on their first secondary school in Zambia at Twapia, Ndola. PEAS currently run eight secondary schools in Uganda.
TEVETA Our training programme in Zambia is accredited by the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) which regulates technical training standards for the Zambian Government. To date our trainees have a 100% pass rate in trades tests.
Zambia Open Community Schools (ZOCS) ZOCs provide support and materials to 150 Zambian community schools. We have worked with them at Makangwe and Chainda Community Schools.
Zambia Orphans of Aids UK (ZOA) We are working in partnership with ZOA to provide a new pre-school and community school building in Chibolya. ZOA was launched in 2007 and currently supports over 1,800 orphans and vulnerable children across Zambia.
Zambian Ministry of Education All of our school building projects are undertaken with the encouragement and support of the Zambian Ministry of Education. The Ministry usually provides complementary support such as additional trained teachers, materials and equipment.
