The Problem:
Expensive, inappropriate building methods, leading to ‘hot’ low quality housing on this, poor tropical Pacific Island.
The Solution:
Technical assistance to install and train a local team to manage of tile making machine for Habitat for Humanity.
BII sent Malcolm Alcock out establish a workshop to produce high quality roof tiles for low-cost housing.
The result was this superb demonstration house which is far superior to the standard block and zinc sheeting methods normally used.
The project has since constructed a further 4 homes.
