HOW WE WILL USE YOUR GIFT

We need to raise £227,000 this year (2008 - 2009) to meet our programme needs.

  • £25 helps cover the cost of a days training in sustainable construction methods.
  • £40 buys two roof tile moulds
  • £100 covers basic business skills support for a local builder.
  • £350 ensures the cement required to build roof-tiles for one classroom
  • £1,000 buys a hand operated machine to press quality bricks
  • £3,000 will pay for a tile-making machine and accessories
  • £3,500 covers latrines for four households in a poor compound in Lusaka
  • £6,000 'Cool House' for a school teacher (we are working on an even cheaper version)
  • £14,000 for a new classroom (excluding management costs)
  • £24,000 covers a two-classroom block including training and project management
  • £106,000 pays for all our Community School Upgrade costs in 2009 (three schools + latrines/houses)
