Why we do it

A Huge Challenge: Build It International works in Zambia where there is a lack of essential community facilities such as schools and clinics and a need for affordable housing,

16,000 new classrooms are needed just so all the children in Zambia can go to school.

Only one in five children complete their secondary school education.

Schools are often are built by communities who have no formal building training. This means many schools are build to poor designs and construction standards. These buildings are often hot noisy, and uncomfortable making it hard to learn in.

Zambia has a shortage of trained builders, yet construction is 15% of Zambia’s economy and is growing, creating potential job opportunities for skilled workers.
