‘Finding a Job’ workshops have been held with 110 graduate trainees
The course consisted of a one day training session which provided information and guidance to graduate trainees on how to secure a job in the competitive construction sector.
The workshops were run by our Training into Work Manager, Justus, and covered topics including: how to keep motivated when searching for a job, how to write an application letter, how to write a CV, how to attend an interview, how to plan your career, and the importance of networking to help find a job.
Further workshops will be held for our 2014 trainees once they complete their initial project based training.
The workshops are not the only thing we are doing to help graduate trainees find work. We are also working hard to link graduates with potential employees and we run refresher courses on basic skills. The refresher courses will cover basic skills including build brick/block walls, setting out a building, levelling foundation trenches, transferring level and concrete works.
