Official opening of Lusumpuko Hall

We were delighted to be joined by Nicholas Woolley, British High Commissioner to the Republic of Zambia, on 28 October to officially open the Lusumpuko Hall at our Centre for Excellence.

Translated from Lenje, ‘lusumpuko’ means ’empowerment’, and is one of our core values as we continue training young men and women with new skills to find work.

On opening the hall, Nicholas said:

“Congratulations Build It on such a wonderful new building, which complements everything else at your Centre for Excellence training facility.

It is inspiring to see so many young people being prepared for the world of work.”

The hall has a unique design with its elevated pitched roof and use of gum poles, and provides flexible learning space for training, workshops and events.

The hall is one of the key buildings in Phase 1 of construction at the Centre for Excellence.
