George Secondary School Phase 2, 2013
Expansion of girls’ dormitory, 1×3 classroom block, kitchen and teachers’ house. The school is owned and managed by UK charity PEAS.
In 2011, Build It International worked with UK charity PEAS to complete Phase 1 of a new secondary school in Twapia, Ndola on the Copperbelt in Zambia. George school opened in January 2012 with 263 places. It provides a high quality secondary education in a poor area of Ndola with a population of 30,000.
The school currently has 263 pupils enrolled. The school will take students from grades 8 -12.
23 New Trainees
The trainees learnt on site and sat their TEVETA bricklaying exams in December 2013. All 23 passed and have received their certificates and tool kits.
