Work is well underway at Shipungu where we are building a teachers’ house and latrine

The latrine at Shipungu will have an improved thatched roof – a first for Build It!

The teachers’ house is being built by eleven trainees who are learning bricklaying skills. Nine of the trainees worked on the rammed earth classroom block in 2012.

The house is making good progress and is up to ring beam level. Graduate trainee Aaron Musukuma, is the contractor for the house. He graduated from our Training into Work Programme in 2010 and has been busy working in the construction sector ever since.
