Promoting gender equality and removing barriers faced by women, is central to our work to ensure young people in Zambia can work and thrive.
Construction offers significant opportunities for young people, yet women are still too often excluded from entering and progressing within the sector.
By investing in women’s participation in construction, we are helping to open pathways to decent work, strengthen families, and contribute to more inclusive local economies.
We are working to:
- Increase the number of young women completing our Training into Work programme
- Increase access and support for more young women through improved recruitment methods, focused Life Skills training and tailored career progression support
- Increase number of employers supporting women with work placements, equal pay and career progression
- Support female friendly and safe workplaces
