Graduation ceremonies for our trainees have taken place in Ndola and Kabaka.
The ceremonies took place at the schools the trainees helped to build. Every trainee was presented with a certificate of completion and their own tool kit, consisting of a brick bolster, float, hammer, shovel, trowel, chisel, mallet and spirit level.

The tool kit and certificate will help our graduates find future work in construction. Some of the tools for the kits were donated by the charities WorkAid and Tools for Self Reliance, and one of our corporate supporters, Scott Bader, covered all remaining costs as part of their ongoing support of our Training into Work programme.

The tool kits were presented by Build It staff members Theo Heath and Albert Lungu. Build It’s Interim Zambia Country Director, Sheila Tuskan-Sager gave the trainees their certificates and said:
“The trainees were extremely proud of their achievements, some have already started their first job working in the industry.”

At least 22 of the 64 graduates have already secured work which is very encouraging news! Congratulations to all graduates!
