The end of May saw a series of mini graduation ceremonies celebrating the hard work and achievements of our 2020 trainees.
The events were held at our Centre for Excellence. There were presentations to trainees across all our courses including brick and blocklaying, painting, rough carpentry and plastering.
There were also presentations to the trainees who trained through our entry-level course in Building Skills, learning on the construction of the office at the Centre for Excellence.
Although smaller due to COVID-19 restrictions, the ceremonies were very joyful events. We were delighted to be joined at one of the ceremonies by Miyanda Kwambwa, Programme Manager – Education, Skills & Gender from our partner Irish Aid, who provide generous support to our Training into Work programme.
Congratulations to all our 2020 graduates – may your new skills help you thrive and prosper.
As well as practical construction skills, all our training courses include life skills to help equip trainees for the world of work. Work placements of around three months give trainees an opportunity to put their new skills into action. They also provide valuable contacts for future employment.
