We are thrilled to see final touches applied to the build at Mwachisompola Primary School.

The new facilities will help pave the way for a brighter future for over 565 pupils from this rural community, 66km north of Lusaka.

With your support we have built four new classrooms. This will help reduce overcrowding, and create a positive learning space for the children at this growing school.

We have also built new Ventilated Improved Pit (VIP) latrines to improve the health and wellbeing of both students and teachers.

New pupil latrines with one cubicle and urinal for the boys, and four cubicles for the girls on the other side.

The boys’ side features a cubicle and urinals, while the girls’ section includes four cubicles, one equipped with a wash space area. This crucial upgrade will help girls to manage their periods. Many girls miss school or drop out of education completely when they start menstruating, because they lack the proper facilities and products to support them.

There are currently 11 teachers at the school. They had to walk 10-minutes to use the toilets at the local church. This just couldn’t continue.

We have built a separate 2-cubicle latrine block exclusively for teachers. The new latrines will help foster a better teaching environment and help attract more teachers to the school.

Thank you for making all this possible. The new facilities means the school can expand to teach children in Grades 8 and 9.

The school hopes to eventually teach up to Grade 12. This will help ensure brighter futures for more children from this growing community.
