We bid a fond farewell to John Hindson, our Head of Finance and Planning (Deputy CEO) who retires at the end of this month. John joined Build It in October 2008 when our income was under £100,000!
John has played a critical role in developing our finance and administrative systems as we have expanded.
Build It Chief Executive Andrew Jowett said: “On behalf of the Board and colleagues at Build It, I would like to pay tribute to John for his significant contributions over the last 13 years.
John’s business acumen, experience and insights have been invaluable as Build It has grown from a fledging charity to one with an annual income of over £1 million. We shall miss him, and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”
John said: “It has been a real privilege to have been part of Build It’s success story in transforming so many lives. To witness first hand on my trips to Zambia, the joy and hope of the young people and communities we work with has been a great personal blessing and encouragement.”
We welcome Jude Fox FCA (pictured above with John), who joins us as Director of Finance and Resources.
Jude brings with her a wealth of experience in the commercial, restructuring advisory and charity sectors, having trained with BDO NI. Career highlights have been with East End Community Foundation, Deloitte Financial Advisory and more recently, Director of Finance and Resources at UK charity Justice Defenders (formerly African Prisons Project).
Jude said: “I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to be part of this effective and quality international development team. To know that our daily work positively contributes to global Sustainable Development Goals, and enables a genuinely sustainable impact on young lives in Zambia.”
