After seeing the Centre for Excellence close for four months earlier in the year due to the pandemic, it is fantastic to see so much activity and energy on site.
Four groups of trainees are currently with us at the Centre.
The trainees attached to the new Build It office continue to make great progress. These trainees are going through our entry-level course in Building Skills, gaining their work experience on construction of the office which is due to be finished early in the new year.
Painting trainees started at the Centre at the end of September, followed by Plastering trainees in mid October. Both groups are comprised of 23 trainees; 8 females and 15 males.

Last week our final group of 2020 trainees started their course learning Brick and Blocklaying.
As well as supporting trainees, we continue to hold monthly drop-in sessions to support graduates.
We know that the world of work can be tough for young people in Zambia. Our Tilimbise Nchito Zathu sessions (“we build on our strength”) provides additional support and extra encouragement to help them into work.
