We are excited to welcome our first group of 2022 trainees to the Centre for Excellence.
23 Brick and Blocklaying trainees including Naomi, Elizabeth and Mary (pictured above) reported for their induction and orientation on Monday 31 January.
The group is made up of 7 women and 16 men. All are enthusiastic and eager to learn new skills to open up new opportunities to find work.
Cohort 80 Brick and Blocklaying
The trainees will go through classes on Life Skills, Health & Safety, and Tools & Equipment before starting their practical training.
This is the 80th group of young trainees to go through our Training into Work programme.
The vast majority of our trainees are between 18 and 35 years old. We look to train young people who have had little education, but with a genuine interest and desire to learn new skills. We aim for at least 30% to be women.
We plan to deliver 12 entry-level training courses in 2022, most of which will be at the Centre for Excellence. They will be on one of the following courses: Basic Building skills, Brick and Blocklaying, Rough Carpentry, Plastering, Painting and Tiling.
