Last Friday, 21 employees from our corporate partner the BGL Group headed off to see the school in Kabaka that they have exclusively funded.

The fundraisers have done an exceptional job, raising all the funds needed to build a new 1×3 classroom block, solar power, latrine block, teachers’ house and water pump for the rural community.

The team of 21 arrived in Kabaka on Saturday and have spent the weekend getting to know the community and exploring the new school.

Whilst staying in Kabaka the fundraisers will be working alongside members of the community and will get stuck into some exciting projects.
[divider]
Activities include: building goal posts, painting the school and planting an orchard and vegetable garden that will provide much needed food source for the children and generate income for the school.

The fundraisers will also get to interact with the school children through educational games, by taking a lesson at the school or through spending time with a family in their home.

The group will learn from the community and take part in a workshop to learn local drumming and singing.
