Our Centre for Excellence is at the heart of our vision to create more opportunities for young people to learn. Building the centre has been crucial in enabling us to develop and expand our skills training programme.

Situated on a two-hectare site on the northern edge of Lusaka, build at the centre started in 2016 with an average of two buildings constructed on site each year.

A significant part of Phase One of construction is now complete. The centre is really coming together, and is a positive and inspiring place to learn.

Although our training programme at the centre is currently on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, construction work on site continues with additional measures implemented to keep everyone safe during the build.

This year, work focuses on the construction of the Build It office. The new office will enable us to bring staff currently based at a separate location, to join the rest of the team at the centre.

In March work began on clearing and marking out the site. Work on excavations and building the foundations progressed well during April and May.

It’s always exciting to see the concrete slab laid, a significant milestones in all our builds!
