Nchute Health Clinic was officially opened by Sylvia Masebo, Zambian Minister of Tourism and Arts.
The action packed ceremony included singing, dancing, speeches from attending dignitaries and a play by members of the local community. The clinic was also officially renamed Chansu Health Clinic.

Whilst the clinic has been operating since June, the official opening was a symbolic milestone for the community and it was great to see so many people joining in with the celebrations.

Chansu Clinic is operated by the Ministry of Health. It provides all basic primary care facilities, services for under-fives and pregnant women.

There is also a separate maternity ward – a facility that is rare in Zambia, and very much welcomed by the women of the community.

The clinic will also serve as a base for outreach work, providing access to health services to a community of over 2,500 people.
