Kawama steps forward

Our trainees have been working hard and their efforts show. The new three classroom block, teacher’s house and school kitchen are all taking shape and are looking great!

The project is still on target to be completed early 2014 and trainees will sit their TEVETA exams in December.

Steady progress is being made on bricklaying. The walls contain a layer of concrete blocks at the floor, which will act as a skirting to protect the wall where it is most likely to be hit by chair legs.

Reinforced concrete block columns are being used, with earth block walls giving the opportunity for the trainees to learn high quality, precision bricklaying.

Graduate trainee Daniel has been contracted to build the kitchen block, this is part of our effort to assist new graduates gain more experience of construction in the first 6 to 12 months after completing their training.
