On 2 December 2025 we proudly celebrated the graduation of 70 our talented trainees.

The trainees had successfully completed entry-level courses in Rough Carpentry & Steel Fixing, Bricklaying & Plastering, and Tiling & Modular Paving.

The day was filled with pride and joy, as graduates marked this milestone alongside their families and friends. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise their hard work, determination and achievements.

In her remarks to the audience, Build It Country Director Chilufya Kasutu highlighted that gaining practical skills can truly transform lives:

“Each graduate represents not just individual progress, but the strengthening of communities and the future of a skilled and confident workforce. Your presence here today is a powerful statement – you are changing perceptions, and opening new possibilities for generations to come.”

We were honoured to have Gift Musonda, locally known as “The Lady Driller”, deliver an inspiring keynote speech.

We recently commissioned Gift to install a borehole at our community build project at Miswa School. Gift is one of Zambia’s few female engineers in this field.

Gift encouraged graduates to take pride in their work, and carry themselves with excellence as ambassadors for their institutions, families, and communities.

And a heartfelt thank you to Build It graduate Jemimah Sambo. Jemimah shared her personal story and experiences, offering encouragement and insight to those just starting out.

We were also honoured to welcome distinguished guests: Mr Henry Nkhoma, Gender Division Director General, Ms Lucie Kasanga, Build It Board Chair and Mr Wilson Sumaili, Build It Board Member.

Congratulations to all our graduates. We are excited to see where your skills take you next – the future of construction is in good hands!
