Fifteen years ago, I handed in my notice at Harvest Help and took up a part-time position as CEO of Build It International. I was part of a group of four development professionals who had spent the past 18 months developing the idea. I definitely made a very good decision!
With your help, we have created a fantastic organisation with undeniable impact on some of the poorest communities and young adults in Zambia, where the majority of people still live in poverty.
With over 1,600 graduates from our skills training programme and 56 completed community building projects, our impact is something I am immensely proud of. We have a strong organisation that continues to deliver and has huge potential to grow further in Zambia and perhaps beyond.
However, now is the right time for me to step back, let someone new take Build It’s vision forward and realise it’s potential. Therefore, we have begun our search for my successor. More information on the recruitment can be found here. Applications deadline 3 March 2023.
Of course, I will remain fully committed to supporting Build It after I am no longer CEO. This will be as an advisor and donor, and maybe in other ways that my successor deems appropriate!
