We are delighted to welcome our new Construction Manager Bram Sol who popped into our Shrewsbury office before flying out to Zambia.
Bram will oversee the building of all our community projects and the Centre for Excellence, managing between 3 to 5 projects per year. He will help to ensure that our trainees continue to learn on high-quality building projects.
Bram joins us at an exciting time – 2019 will be our biggest year ever as we significantly increase the number of young, unemployed people we train.
Bram holds degrees in Engineering and Development Studies, and has a huge amount of experience working in the construction industry. Before applying for the role with Build It, Bram worked for five and a half years in Zambia managing the construction of the George Korsten Vocational Training Centre in Mpongwe.
Bram will be a key part of our Zambia Senior Management team. He will manage and provide training and support for our local site agents to ensure works are completed on time, to budget and a high standard. Bram will also have a strong focus on Health and Safety.
Bram is from the Netherlands but has found the spontaneity of Zambia to be irresistible, drawing him back almost immediately after his return to the Netherlands.
Bram previously lived in the north of Zambia, but is looking forward to relocating with his family to Lusaka to be near the Centre for Excellence.
When we asked Bram what he likes most about Zambia he said, ‘It’s a great country with lovely people. Life’s more exciting in Zambia, there are always unexpected challenges!’
We are looking forward to hearing more about the exciting new things and challenges Bram faces as he settles into the role.
