Back to class

31 August 2021.

We are delighted to start welcoming our plastering trainees back to the Centre for Excellence.

The 23 trainees were only two weeks into their course when the Centre had to close on 21 June due to the third wave of COVID-19 across Zambia.

The number of COVID-19 cases peaked at the end of June and have steadily declined since. As a result, schools and other educational facilities have been allowed to start reopening.

Keeping our staff and trainees safe remains paramount. A number of Health & Safety measures remain in place across the Centre, but it is encouraging to see trainees return to their classrooms. They will have some catching-up to do, but our distance learning materials helped them continue their training at home.

The reopening of the Centre also means we will shortly be welcoming our first ever Tiling trainees. Our pilot entry-level Floor and Wall Tiling course has been delayed several times due to the pandemic. However trainee recruitment is currently underway, with the course due to start later this month.
