A total of 59 trainees from three projects took part in the life skills course earlier this month. The new course is designed to help trainees to develop self-confidence, better decision making and communication skills.

These new skills will help the young people we work with to get the most out of the basic building skills training. Trainees took part in a mixture of team-building activities mixed with theoretical lessons.

Stephen, Build It Trainee at Linda Project

The course was delivered by our partner, Restless Development; the life skills training will have a positive impact on the development of the trainees. The aim is to empower them to have an even greater impact on the development of their community.

It’s like you knew that I needed these life skills here in Chitukuko and I thank build It International for giving me this opportunity. I always regarded myself a failure, but now I see myself achieving more and being successful”
Everisto, Build It Trainee at Chitukuko

The trainees have really enjoyed learning about life skills, many trainees said they would share what they had learnt with their friends and family because they could see how life skills can improve their lives.
