Treasurer for BII Zambia Ltd (Voluntary position based in Zambia)

We are looking for a new Trustee to join the BII Zambia Board, who would also assume the role of treasurer and sit on the organisation’s Finance and Audit Committee (FAC).

The right person will be able to contribute to the overall development of the Charity. 

Duties include: Monitoring and advising on the financial viability of the Charity, helping to oversee it’s financial viability as well as keeping informed about the charity’s activities.

BII Zambia is a separate legal body but holds joint board meetings with Build It International UK.  Board meetings take place in Lusaka, Zambia connecting online to colleagues in the UK. 

FAC meetings take place online.

Senior Communications Officer

22.5 hours per week, Salary Circa £28,000 – £30,000 (Pro rata, subject to experience)

Build It International are looking for an articulate and dynamic Senior Communications Officer to support the development and delivery of the organisation’s communications strategy.

Build It International is aiming to more than double its supporter base and income over the next few years to reach more young people in Zambia. To achieve this we are working hard to reach new audiences. This position will be instrumental in developing and delivering a new communications strategy (with a strong focus on digital) in order for us to drive this growth.

You will be a highly effective, creative and flexible copy writer who is self-motivated, highly organised, independent and demonstrates a passion for our cause. You will also have an excellent understanding of digital communications strategies, delivery and performance monitoring, as you will be instrumental in taking Build It’s online presence to the next level.

You will work in a strategic manner on all external communication activities such as email, social media, press releases, news stories, website management, video production, and production of marketing collaterals.

This role is flexible and supports home working, with a minimum of 2 days per month in the town centre office in Shrewsbury (near to the railway station). Freelance arrangements will also be considered. Occasional travel to events is necessary, mainly in London.

Experience in a similar role would be preferred, but not essential.
