Give every month… make a difference today.

Join us on our mission to give more young people in Zambia a hand up to a brighter future. Your monthly donation will help in a very special way. Knowing what donations we can expect over the months and years to come, means we can plan further into the future.

A reliable source of funding helps support long-term planning and decision making, improving the efficiency and the impact of our work. Regular donations also help during times of uncertainty, such as the recent COVID-19 pandemic, helping to provide critical stability to continue our activities.

You will enable us to make sustainable plans to support more disadvantaged young men and women in Zambia. With your support we can empower them with skills for life. They take these new skills forward to make a positive difference to their families, their communities and beyond.

Your monthly gift will enable us to continue to:

  • Train young, disadvantaged men and women to be builders, and give them a better chance of employment.
  • Support our graduates after their training, providing additional career development support to help them use their new skills to the max.
  • Build additional classrooms, sanitation facilities and health centres, helping to bring essential services to some of Zambia’s most disadvantaged communities.

“My name is Kendlick Sijabala, I’m 27 years old, and married with two children.

The news I received about Build It got me excited. I discussed with my wife about it, and she encouraged me to pursue the training. I relocated from Livingstone to Lusaka, because I wanted a skill by all means.

I have grown up in a family that has struggled financially. School wise, I only went up to 9th grade as my parents couldn’t support me further. I started doing some piece works – a bit of farming and small trading business.

In 2017 I got married, but the sources of income I had couldn’t support my growing family. The opportunity to be trained by Build it was an answered prayer. I knew the process would take a bit of time, but it was worth it, because having a skill could open up new job opportunities for me.

After my training at Build It, I was placed with Universal Interiors construction company to gain practical experience. During this same time my family joined me from Livingstone. After my work placement period ended, I have continued to work with the same company.

My desire is to become a contractor, and be financially stable to ensure my family is well supported.”

A monthly gift can be a convenient way to spread the cost of your donation across the year. You can budget accordingly, and having a donation coming out as a monthly payment may be easier to manage.

And if you’re a UK taxpayer, you can boost every donation you make with Gift Aid. This is an Income Tax relief programme created to help charities get the most out of the funds they receive. The scheme effectively adds 25p to each £1 you give – at no extra cost to you.

A gift of:

  • £20 per month will pay for valuable life skills training for an entire cohort of trainees every year.
  • £50 per month will provide a full tool kit for five trainees to use during their training, plus a shiny new toolkit to keep!
  • £85 per month will train one young person with practical trades skills that are in demand giving them a better chance of employment.

Thank you for your support – together we are building brighter futures in Zambia.
